Though he chafed at the label, he became music’s supreme impressionist in a twilight moment of European culture.     He is considered Czechoslovakia’s supreme nationalist but Dvorak wound up in Spillville, Iowa, writing an American classic. His life was sanguine and uncomplicated, but his music is at turns tragic and complex. In another of their patented “informances” the Saint Michael Trio will reconcile Dvorak's contradictions as they perform his Piano Quintet in A Major.
